Aftercare

Warranty and aftercare

A body is a fifteen-year asset that spends its life being reversed into things. What happens after handover matters more than anything in the brochure.

What the warranty covers

Structure — 5 years

Panel delamination, bond failure and subframe defects. Transferable if the vehicle is sold.

Floor — 5 years

The bonded floor and its coving, against separation and moisture ingress from below.

Fit-out — 2 years

Doors, hinges, catches, lighting and load restraint. Seals are a consumable and are not covered by time.

Damage happens

Send photographs and the body number. Skin damage that has not reached the core is usually a one-day repair at the works and is often cheaper than the excess on the insurance claim.

Where moisture has reached the core we will tell you, and we will not do a cosmetic repair over a wet panel. A patched wet panel keeps looking fine while the insulation value quietly goes to nothing.

Common questions

How long is a build?

A rigid body is eight to ten weeks from chassis arrival, a trailer body ten to twelve, and a van conversion three to four. Refurbishment depends entirely on what the survey finds, which is why we survey before quoting rather than after.

Do you supply the refrigeration unit?

No. We install the unit you specify and we will happily tell you what we see failing early in the field, but we take no commission from plant manufacturers and we do not sell their equipment. That keeps the advice worth having.

Can you build on our chassis?

Yes, and that is the usual arrangement. We work to the chassis manufacturer's bodybuilder guidelines, mount on a matched subframe and do not drill the chassis rail. Bodybuilder approval documentation is supplied with the handover pack.

What happens if a panel is damaged in service?

Send us photographs and the body number. Minor skin damage is often repairable in a day at the works. If moisture has reached the core we will say so, because a cosmetic repair on a wet panel is money spent to preserve a fault.

Do you work outside South Australia?

We build for operators across Australia and deliver by driveaway or on a low-loader. Aftercare outside SA runs through the repairer network listed in the handover pack, with warranty work authorised by us before it starts.

Can we visit the works?

Yes. Most customers come once during their build, usually at the point the body is on the chassis but before the lining goes in, which is when a change is still cheap. Ring ahead so somebody is free to walk you round.
